Crank those speakers up...location: Kowloon, Hong KongCurrent Mood:
awake
All those posts on house music will now give way to something that can tickle your aural senses, at last.
A lot of time and effort has gone into finding house playlists, and in trying to glean the best out of them. Many of my friends have also liked the numbers that I've been listening to, and that leads me to believe that house music can be liked by a wide variety of people.
Presenting
the playlist that rocks my socks. Will try to keep it up-to-date with the most awesome tracks out there. Give it a listen, and if you start shaking a leg, let me know.

We're never gonna survive, unless...location: Secunderabad, IndiaCurrent Mood:
crazy
Current Music: Gnarls Barkley - CrazyMy heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember is thinking, I want to be like them
Ever since I was little, ever since I was little it looked like fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done
Maybe I'm crazy
Maybe you're crazy
Maybe we're crazy
Probably...
- Gnarls Barkley,
Crazy.
That makes it three songs titled "Crazy", that I am crazy about. Seal's "Crazy", Alanis Morissette's cover of the same, and Gnarls Barkley's number.
What are you crazy about?

HYD, AP. IN!location: Secunderabad, IndiaCurrent Mood:
happy
After living The Californian Life for 83 days, I'm back in India. Landed early this morning at HYD, instead of that airplane garage called BLR. Lufthansa is not as enjoyable as Cathay Pacific due to the lack of per-seat-LCD-screens, but I discovered some excellent house numbers on radio channel #6, ClubMix.
Should be headed to Bangalore in a week or slightly more than that.
I've now flown in seven major passenger aircraft - the A320 family, A330 and A340 from Airbus, and the 737, 747, 757 and 777 from Boeing. The A300, A310, A380 and the Boeing 767 remain...

- Justin Timberlake - What Goes Around Comes Around, LoveStoned, Summer Love
- Gwen Stefani - 4 in the Morning
- Wonderland Avenue - White Horse
- Timbaland - Way I Are
- Ne-Yo - Because of You
- Timbaland feat. JT and Nelly Furtado - Give It To Me
- Rihanna - Umbrella
- Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder
- Linkin Park - What I've Done
- Alannah Myles - Black Velvet
- Nelly Furtado - Say It Right
For the last two months, I've been thinking of visiting a shrink, having asked a bunch of people about recommending one. Then, sometime last month, I managed to take lessons in golf, and learnt how to drive. There's nothing more therapeutic than whacking the smithereens out of a golf ball, making it fly 120+ yards if you get it right. So far, I have been doing 100+ yards with a 7-iron and 120+ yards with a 6-iron, over the course of the last two weekends. A lot of room for improvement, of course. There's something inside, a mixture of anger, frustration and depression, that just starts melting away at the driving range. Yay, I do not need to visit a psychologist!

Welcome back, boys.location: Sunnyvale, CATwo of my favourite bands from college-days are back on top of the charts. "Makes Me Wonder" by Maroon 5 and Linkin Park's "What I've Done" are such amazing numbers, and the lyrics of the latter song seem so totally-written-for-me types.
In this farewell,
There's no blood,
There's no alibi.
Cause I've drawn regret,
From the truth,
Of a thousand lies.
So let mercy come,
And wash away...
What I've done,
I'll face myself,
To cross out
What I've become,
Erase myself,
And let go of
What I've done.
Meanwhile, Jay Z and Rihanna kick ass in "Umbrella".
Still geographically in Sunnyvale. Totally in love with the great city of San Francisco. Sorry NYC, for the phrase "The City" refers to SF now, at least for me.
California is so different from the rest of this country. It's like a different nation in itself. (
anomalizer, you were right!)

Batman began, and Superman returned, yet they couldn't change themselves and remained wussies.
You deserve to be forgotten, fools, as the
real super-hero hits the screens tomorrow. I'm going to watch
Spidey-3 first day, first show! All the
clips and trailers thus far look very promising.
Can't wait to get my hands on
the soundtrack. (Take some link love, Amazonians. Hee hee.) Hope it lives up to the offerings in the earlier two albums.
Spideeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!

some of my photos from Malaysia. You must check out

Malaysian Grand Prix weekend as well - high quality stuff.
Been listening to
Bebot (Black Eyed Peas),
Ready Steady Go (Paul Oakenfold) and
Sweet Escape (Gwen Stefani) quite a bit. Love 'em.
Am I the only hardcore
LOST fan, or are there some of you out there too? Has anybody been following season 3? Till the very latest episode, #16?
As you can see, my time online these days is spent more on Flickr, than LiveJournal.

On soundtracks...The Good Thing about Hollywood flicks is that songs aren't part of the movie, yet the tracks they choose for sequences add so much value to the story. I do agree that of late, Bollywood has been churning out some impressive remixes of the songs used in the movies, but then again, when a track jumps in slap-bang in the middle of the story, it's irritating.
Back to the theme.
hitesh,
premshree,
spo0nman and I went to watch
The Departed on Friday evening. Great movie, even from a soundtrack perspective. One can easily recognize Pink Floyd's
Comfortably Numb playing in one scene, but there's this amazing track going on during one of the car chases:
Dropkick Murphys - I'm Shipping Up To Boston. Very Irish!
Another case, with a TV show at that. There's this
French rap song playing in the final episode of
Sex and the City (Season 6, Episode 20). Good stuff.
Upon a little bit of searching, learnt that it's peformed by
MC Solaar, and the track's named
La Belle et Le Bad Boy. Why choose a French rap song? That's because the finale is in Paris!
There are some movies which have mindblowing soundtracks:
Spider-Man (1 and 2),
Godzilla,
M:I-2, to name a few.
One more before I conclude this post. Seen
Hitch, right? Remember the scene in the bar when Will Smith approaches Eva Mendes? Really funky number playing in the background - Todd Terry's remix of
Five Fathoms, the original rendered by
Everything But the Girl.
Todd Terry is from New York, and the movie's based in NYC, so there.
Any not-so-popular-but-awesome tracks you have stumbled upon through Hollywood? Let me know!

New Paki band on the block...Current Mood:
impressed
Been listening to
Raeth's Bhula Do. Good stuff from the Paki kids.
The pain expressed in the lead singer's voice is in the same league as Jal's
Woh Lamhe (two different versions of this song are in the soundtrack of
Zeher) and Zubeen Garg's
Ya Ali (soundtrack of
Gangster).

Kal agar na mil paaye, reh na jaaye baat baaki.

Crazy Frog -> Axel F -> F1 engine imitation -> Insanity...Current Mood:
amused
Current Music: Crazy Frog (Bass Bumpers) - Axel FLong long ago, in the year 1999, I got hold of
this file, which was disguised under the description
How a Formula 1 V8 engine sounds like. Around about the same time (by my guess), this
insanity test was also floating around in the form of email forwards. Notice the similarity, don't ya? :>
*booming voice* Six years later, in 2005 AD,
this song releases, and I was surprised to see this little audio clip as a part of this remix. Apparently, this song has
become a very popular mobile-phone ringtone amongst teeny-boppers.
A little bit of searching, and we get to know that the famous kid's name is
Daniel Malmedahl. There's an impressive Wikipedia entry on
Crazy Frog.
If a picture speaks a thousand words, how much does a video convey? Don't ask me, but check out the
animated music video of the Crazy Frog phenomenon.
