04:02 am :: Crank those speakers up...
location: Kowloon, Hong Kong
Current Mood: awake

All those posts on house music will now give way to something that can tickle your aural senses, at last.

A lot of time and effort has gone into finding house playlists, and in trying to glean the best out of them. Many of my friends have also liked the numbers that I've been listening to, and that leads me to believe that house music can be liked by a wide variety of people.

Presenting the playlist that rocks my socks. Will try to keep it up-to-date with the most awesome tracks out there. Give it a listen, and if you start shaking a leg, let me know.

07:05 pm :: Just another brain-dead blog post...
Current Mood: biatch

You wake up at 15:00, walk into work at 16:15. Can't work. Try working, but the code doesn't flow. Try playing pool, but the concentration is missing. Today was like that. Can't help but blame it on scrum. Sucks.

Lost a precious adidas cap on Friday. It felt like losing a loved one. Walked into the showroom today, bought the same thing again. Veni, vidi, VISA!

Indiatimes Domains is so fucked up. Since Yahoo! Domains doesn't register .in objects, I chose Indiatimes, since they've been pretty good with their shopping microsite. For starters, the control panel didn't show my domain name. Managed to talk to a human after calling them up about eight times. When my domain did show up on the control panel, the WHOIS information was screwed up. Changing that, and the DNS servers, causes nothing. The human who helped me out the first time around is going to get a piece of my mind tomorrow, I swear.

Got another iPod nano for free, a 1GB thingie though. Need a better digital camera. I'm not the Nikon D70 types, thank you. A Canon Powershot is more like my bitch.

Dear General Motors, please launch the Chevrolet Spark in India on time, circa January 2007. I'll be a good [info]teemus and book one, I promise. Will sell a kidney if need be. Can't stand the car void longer.

IEs4Linux is sweet! Here, take some link love.

So, Google bought YouTube. Smart, indeed. I guess they wanted to learn how PHP is used for a website that gets huge-ass traffic. :P While they are at it, I hope they fix all those XSS security holes in YouTube, before even thinking of integrating their login system with it. Don't do an Orkut! :P

I'm bitching along okay, otherwise. [info]code_martial says that I should get an award for the using the word 'bitch' in the most creative ways...

01:56 am :: It couldn't get any better...

How could I miss this in the [info]news yesterday? LiveJournal now allows you to embed videos hosted on YouTube in your blog posts! Sweet.

07:29 pm :: YouTube FLV Grabba!
Current Mood: whatever
Current Music: DJ Aqueel - Fanaa for You (OST, Fanaa)

Was reading about grabbing videos off YouTube. Then, wrote a little JavaScript bookmarklet that downloads the .flv file of any video. Get the bookmark off this page, since LJ does not allow JavaScript in entries.

Play any video on YouTube, go clickety on the bookmark, and a new window pops up asking you what to do with the .flv file. Save it somewhere, and use mplayer to view it. You can convert it to a more convenient video format using ffmpeg.

Update, 23:00 - Woohoo! Got it working even when you don't have the Flash plugin installed. [info]hitesh, thanks for making this the requirement! ;)

Update, 2006-05-18, 17:15 - Need to download stuff off Google Video? Get the bookmarklet to do that!

10:37 pm :: Look ma, I can juggle!
Current Mood: accomplished

Here you go. If your browser has the Flash plugin, view the shorter ten second clip, and the longer twenty-four second version, beginning to end. The sound, unfortunately, is all squeaky, due to the .3gp -> .wmv conversion, and the upload to YouTube thereafter.

[info]code_martial, thanks for being the videographer.
